During the seven weeks of Lent, we will once again observe Lenten Lunches at St. Johns United Methodist Church. We will meet for lunch on Tuesdays during Lent, beginning with Tuesday, February 23rd, and ending with Tuesday, March 30th. We will gather in the sanctuary at 12:10 PM for a 15 minute devotion, sing a favorite hymn, and then share a light lunch in the Fellowship Hall before folks have to return to work by 1:00 PM. Donations for lunch will gladly be accepted, but are not required. Please join us as we ponder the meaning of Lent by contemplating this year’s theme, “What is God’s role in the tragedies of life?”

Lenten Study - Location: Fellowship Hall

Pastor Glenn Rowley will lead a Lenten study, entitled 'WHY FORGIVE?'

For most of us, there are people and events in our lives that have wounded us.  From personal hurts from those closest to us, to attacks on our communal life, like the threats of terrorism or other enemies, we find it hard to forgive.  So, why are we asked to forgive as Christians?  Why is forgiveness so hard? Those are questions we will explore, as well as, consider some new possibilities and images of forgiveness.

Who are the people of St. Johns?

St. Johns United Methodist Church in Kingman, Arizona is a group of people, of all ages, from various traditions and places who strive to love God, one another, and the world.

We love, because God first loved us and continues to call us to live in joy, hope and certainty that God's love will survive all things. We have "clay feet" which means that we realize that there is a lot of pain and loss in the world. We face our hurts honestly, knowing that our hope is not in ourselves, but in God's gracious care for all people.

We firmly believe that, with God, we can make a difference in the world. And so we move forward, knowing that our presence in this community offers hope to everyone searching for love. By the grace and the love of God, all that we have is yours...won't you come join us and discover together what we can be?
