United Methodist Women (UMW)

Our Purpose: To be Women of God to do the will of God.  To be in mission for God.

"The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church."

The United Methodist Women's organization has historically been one of the pillars of the United Methodist Church. Through their focus on spiritual growth and support of missions the UMW at St. Johns continues to offer leadership to our community and to the world.

We have several programs throughout the year to benefit the local missions as well as missions around the world. The executive team meets every 4th Saturday of each month at St. Johns in the library.

We sponsor two local community groups:
Taking Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS).

We furnish the meals for the funerals and memorial services held at St. Johns and provide other meals for the families in their homes as needed.

We also work in the local ministries of The Kingman Food Bank, ROOT, St. Johns Food Pantry and the Pastor's Discretionary Fund

If you wish to be in mission with us you can contact St. Johns Office at 692-8828. Please leave your name and contact information and the President of the UMW, Ruth Cisney or another member of the board will be in touch with you. Please come join us!
